Othello Film Festival

In partnership with the Kansas City Public Library, don’t miss The Moor the Merrier: Variations on the Theme of Othello.  During the month of May, the following films will be screened in the Stanley H. Durwood Film Vault at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th Street.  All screenings begin at 6:30 p.m.

Othello (1995) – Monday, May 5.  Starring Laurence Fishburne as Othello and Kenneth Branagh as Iago.

A Double Life (1947) – Monday, May 12.  A George Cukor classic about a Shakespearean actor who takes his roles very seriously.  Starring Ronald Colman and Shelley Winters.

Otello (1986) – Monday, May 19.  Franco Zeffirelli directs Placido Domingo in Verdi’s operative version of Shakespeare’s play. 

O (2001) – Tuesday, May 27.  A contemporary re-visioning of Othello starring Josh Hartnett and Julia Stiles.
