Romeo and Juliet: Fortune's Fools ~ grades 3-9
Two teaching artists will interactively bring to life the story of Romeo and Juliet. Students will be given the opportunity to role play along side the teaching artists and use their imaginations to tell Shakespeare's tale. Problem solving skills will be explored in depth as the students turn the tables and decide what could have happened next. Students will work in small groups to focus closely on specific aspects of the play.
The Art of Persuasion! Julius Caesar ~ grades 7-12
The story of Julius Caesar is a dynamic backdrop for students to explore the power of persuasion and reality of rhetoric. Professional teaching artists offer an inspiring glimpse into the world of the play. Students will work in smaller groups to come up with their own version of the events of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. The workshop culminates in a mock trial of the conspirators in which students decide the final outcome.
En garde Bard! Stage Combat ~ grades 6-12
Safety first! Teaching artists who are also trained combatants will come to your classroom or gymnasium and provide an interactive presentation of stage combat techniques. The safety elements of acting with combat will be fully explored utilizing scenes from Shakespeare's plays. Students will engage and bring the text to life with professional supervision.
Sonnet ShakeUP ~ grades 4-12
Sonnet ShakeUP is a writing workshop offered to prepare students for participation in the Festival's 2008 sonnet contest. Two teaching artists will present a choral arrangement based on one of Shakespeare's sonnets and give an interactive overview of the festival's 2008 play (TBA). The elements of how to write a sonnet will then be presented. Teachers will receive all of the preparation materials needed to enter their students in our sonnet competition.
Poster Prep ~ grades 4-12
Poster Prep is a workshop designed for art classes as a launching point for our yearly poster contest. Two teaching artists will bring to life the upcoming 2008 festival selection (TBA). Students will interactively brainstorm the possibilities for illustrating the story they have seen. Teachers will receive all the materials needed to enter their students in the 2008 Poster Contest.
Shakespeare Off the Cuff ~ grades 4-12
Shakespeare off the Cuff is an introduction to the world of improvisation. Every student will get on their feet and work with their classmates to learn the basics of creating characters, gaining self-confidence and utilizing their creativity. Students will participate in acting games that do not rely on any scripts, the magic lies in their own imaginations!

Notes:
- These prices are based on two teaching artists per 25 students.
- If your classes are only an hour in length, we can divide the 120 minute session into two visits.
- If you have more than one class that meets at different times or days we will base the price off of total number of students.
- These prices are for all workshops except Shakespeare Alive which is priced on an individual basis due to the personalized nature of the workshop.
Shakespeare Alive! ~ grades 4-12
Shakespeare Alive is for classrooms interested in a more in depth look at the works of the world's greatest playwright. Teaching artists will work with students on scenes from a Shakespeare's text of your choosing. Students are given an experience full of self-expression, confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Students participate in acting games and exercises, improvisation, and vocal techniques. This course is most successful in 2- 12 sessions which then culminate in sharing of scenes or an abridged version of the play.
